Bioinformatic data analysis is an important task to obtain maximum
information from the array experiments carried out.
AROS uses the latest and most advanced software packages available,
as AROS scientists are always in the front line regarding.

LOH and allelic gain / loss from SNP arrays
Expression data Bioinformatics
AROS basic service includes appropriate normalization (e.g. mas5.0,
RMA, gcRMA, ) and a simple comparison of experiments and samples
as a for all customers. This will generate lists of genes that are
induced orrepressed in the samples.
More advanced statistic analysis and data mining can be performed
such as analysis of specific gene families, analysis of pathways involved
in the samples, and drawing of the networks activated or repressed in
the experiments.
LOH and allelic gain and loss
AROS scientists have published a number
of papers (see publications) on the use of SNP arrays for identification
of allelic imbalances in cancer tissue. AROS bioinformatic specialists
have developed an algorithm that will pick up both gain and loss of
genomic material. This enables identification of new oncogenes and
tumor suppressor genes.
Association data
AROS scientists and their collaborators have utilized
10k mapping arrays to identify loci associated with various diseases.
Each association study is time consuming, and has the form of a contract research program.
